During this unpredictable time, MUJI wants you keep calm and retreat to simpler days, much like its bare-bones, “no-brand” philosophy.

As the Japanese lifestyle store remains closed in the US, it is inviting you to its world of serenity by rolling out calming online meditation and calligraphy workshops online.

The first class took place on 1 May, where instructors from New York yoga studio Sky Ting gave a six-minute meditation class with positions to keep you relaxed at home.

This will be followed by four calligraphy classes. Three workshops, on 8, 15 and 22 May, will be conducted by lettering artist Sam Teich. According to Apartment Therapy, Teich will kick off her tutorials with a class on creating handmade Mother’s Day cards on 8 May. These lessons should be uploaded to MUJI USA’s Instagram page.

On 19 May at 5.30pm ET, calligrapher Shinah Chang of Crooked Calligraphy will conduct a live 30-minute calligraphy class for all skill levels using MUJI pens and stationery, though you can use whatever stationery you have at home.

MUJI’s first online lesson, the meditation workshop, can be enjoyed below.
